On Good Friday, 6 April 2012, Marathon Matters will stage the sixth Look Matters Gopher Attack Marathon and Half Marathon, The Western Canada International Marathon. To register go to http://www.eventsonline.ca/events/look_matters_gopher/

The enthusiastic support from our sponsors allow us to increase the number of registrants to 275 while maintaining the intimacy of the event and the excellent service to participants.

At cost of entry of $40, the Gopher Attack Marathon provides the best value among the Canadian marathons.

Last April, the excellent running conditions combined with the flat, fast course, produced three new course records—for male marathon, and male and female half-marathons—and 16 Boston qualifiers.

What's New

Saskatchewan first! Since 2011, the Gopher Marathon is one of the events in the Timex National Road Race Series.

Also introduced in 2011 is the direct cash donation to the MS Society when registering on line at http://www.eventsonline.ca/events/look_matters_gopher/ . Tax receipts will be issued for all donation.

Saskatchewan first! HydraPouch portable hydration containers will be available for sale at the packet pick up.

Cost of registration is only $40. Post race refreshments are included in the fee.

Award ceremony will be held immediately after the event in the finish area.

Boston qualifiers will receive a special edition of latex bracelets.

In response to the growing interest, the number of participants has been increased to 275.

Package Pick Up

Package pick-up will be Thursday 5 April between 4 and 7 PM in Look Matters offices, 1815 Rae Street  Regina, SK S4T 2E3.

Racing numbers, timing chips, and the latest event information will be distributed at the package pick up.

Call for Volunteers

We need volunteers for the start/finish and aid stations. Also needed are course marshals and bicycle riders.

The volunteers will enjoy a morning in the fresh spring air, the up close view of the race, and the opportunity to meet new friends. They will also receive a special gift, a memento of their participation in the event.
