Frankly, we do not know. (Surprise!) It is reasonable to expect near sub-freezing temperatures at the start time, rising 5 to 10 degrees Celsius by noon. The footing may include sections with packed snow and some ice patches. It is recommended to dress in layers with a wind shell and take along protection for extremities—gloves, hat, and face cover. The best footwear for the conditions will be trail shoes with aggressive grips. The runners who prepare for and respect the conditions will find the cold-weather running in Regina as pleasurable and rewarding as running in warmer climates.
